Our values & assignment

At Grange Explorers Montessori School, we value uniqueness and the innate potential of each child by offering a caring educational approach, anchored in a rigorously structured and resolutely bilingual, thus promoting a rich linguistic immersion from an early age. Our aim is to provide a stimulating and caring environment, where each child feels supported in their journey of learning and personal development.

We stimulate the curiosity natural and self-motivation of children, promoting their independence, autonomy, creativityself esteem, and cultivate in them a deep love for learning through enriching experiences in a serene and welcoming environment.

Each child is treated with respect, love and care, taking into consideration their individual needs. Our approach is based on proven methods and scientific knowledge on child development, to promote their development and personal development.

We guide the child in their journey of development staff, ensuring their participation in daily outdoor activities in local parks (Grange ParkBertrand Park) and offering him the joy of taking care of the school's vegetable garden, thus enriching his educational experience.

P philosophy

Over a hundred years ago, Maria Montessori discovered that children are born with a deep desire to interact with their environment in an intelligent manner. She found that children thrived more when they had the freedom to direct their own learning in what is called a prepared environment. In summary, this approach involves: respecting the individual rhythms and respect for others; offering the child the freedom to choose their activities in an environment adapted to their sensitive periods; providing sufficiently long periods for independent activity.

These activities are divided into five main groups:

1. Practical life

gives children the opportunity to exercise and optimize their concentration while carrying out everyday tasks. The child develops hand-eye coordination and organizational skills. They gain autonomy, willpower, self-confidence, and are prepared for writing and reading.

2. Sensory Activities

are based on the active manipulation of very precise materials designed scientifically. The child refines their perception and understanding of the world, which provides a useful basis for learning mathematics. The child explores this material through their senses.

3.Language

enables the enrichment of vocabulary, improves the expression of thoughts, aids in the understanding of sounds, and teaches reading and writing.

4. Mathematics

are acquired in a fun and natural way. They develop the child's logical mind. Children concretely manipulate the materials and understand what quantity is before moving on to abstract concepts. We teach them numeration, the decimal system, the four operations, fractions, etc.

5. Culture

this area allows the child the opportunity to familiarize themselves with concepts including natural sciences, geography, botany, music, visual arts, cooking, gardening, inventions, inventories, etc.
